

Greetings From Judy Hill, Rocky Mountain Conference Lay Leader
As we move into the Easter Season of the church calendar, we look with new hope and wonder at what opportunities will be offered us to serve Christ.
Just a few items to update you as preparations for Annual Conference 2007 are well underway. The pre-conference packet will be mailed on April 18 with the registration deadline May 25. The location will be the Denver Marriott Tech Center, 4900 S. Syracuse, Denver. For room registration go to rmcumc.org do this early so you are ensured the $69.00 rate available in the conference block of rooms.
This year we will elect the 2008 General and Jurisdictional delegates. The lay members of Annual Conference will vote for the lay delegates and clergy elect clergy. Those who have submitted their lay delegate form for election will be presented at the laity session June 14, 9am -noon and will share 3 minute speeches with us. The first ballot will take place that evening at the Plenary.
Bishop Domingos from West Angola will be welcomed to the laity session and make a presentation for us on the United Methodist work in his conference.
For our celebration during our laity luncheon June 16, we look forward to meeting our Quiet Disciples and Outstanding Lay Speakers for the past year. The Gospel Choir from Park Hill UMC has been invited to entertain us.
The Bridge of Love offering will be gathered at the beginning of the Thursday evening plenary. Letters have been mailed and notice was on the conference news so do hope it has reached your congregation.
This Annual Conference will be fast paced with lots to cover. The Wednesday evening preacher is Bishop Beverly Shamana, Cal/Nev Conference with the teaching moments led by Rev. Grant Hagiya, Cal./ Pacific Conference. These outstanding leaders along with Rev. Ron Hodges and Bishop Warner Brown will lead us as we worship together keeping us centered in Christ as we do the necessary business of the conference.
